Summary

As a member of Creekside Jewelers, your role as the Assistant Manager is to ensure you and the team develop strong customer relationships, provide excellent customer service, help manage a team of employees/contractors/vendors, and maintain effective operations while following all policies, procedures and processes. We look to our staff to maximize sales performance by leveraging their knowledge and customer service to drive customer loyalty.

Creekside Jewelers and its predecessors have occupied the same space for over 120 years in the historical part of downtown Golden, CO, making it the oldest jewelry and watch store location in Colorado. We are a full service fine jeweler offering jewelry and watch sales, repairs and appraisals. Our staff get to share our customer’s special moments and milestones. After all, who comes into a jewelry store in a bad mood? We are looking for individuals that share their love of jewelry and watches, love interacting with people visiting from all over the country, the world, and are looking for a place to work where the team feels like a second family.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

You will be providing excellence in service and helping team members do the same. Daily responsibilities may include;

  •   Provide exemplary client experiences to new customers, while building on our already loyal clientele.
  •   Help foster a positive environment where the team supports one another, learns from each other and makes it a great place to work.
  •   Help manage day-to-day operations including managing staff of part time employees, part time contractors and vendors.
  •   Manage the customer facing and sales related aspects of the store, including sales, product display, and the coordination of repair and custom jobs.
  •   Effectively delegate assignments and follow up to verify completion. Provide assistance and training as necessary.
  •   Demonstrate willingness and ability to effectively communicate positive and constructive feedback as needed to team members.
  •   Work closely and creatively with clients throughout the sales process.
  •   Follow all security and loss prevention procedures in accordance with corporate policies.
  •   Ensure inventory supplies and backstock are at appropriate levels.
  •   Strictly adhere to and enforce all Company processes, policies and procedures.
  •   Perform ring inspections and cleaning / polishing.
  •   Collaborate with the team to ensure the merchandise and cases, displays, windows are clean, organized and visually appealing.
  •   Maintains the neatness and cleanliness of the front entry, sales floor, back rooms.
  •   Assist with setup of seasonal and holiday store displays.
  •   Serve as initial point of contact for new vendors and escalation point for customers.
  •   Maintain vendor relationships with cutters, designers, and sales representatives
  •   Maintains and follows up on all customer / guest requests.
  •   Responds promptly and accurately to all management directives.
  •   Assist with ordering as needed and occasionally attend trade shows.
  •   Assist in the management and fulfillment of ecommerce and online orders.

     ●   Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to opening, maintaining and closing the store. Some of these duties include setting up merchandise at the beginning of the day and putting away merchandise at the end of the day. Light cleaning, such as wiping showcases, vacuuming, taking out garbage, and other office and store cleaning and maintenance activities.

Requirements:

Seeking a self-motivated, creative, detail-oriented individual with exceptional interpersonal and customer relations skills to join our team. Ideal candidate will offer the following;

  •   Minimum of 3 years sales experience in the jewelry industry required
  •   Some supervisory experience is a plus.
  •   Be comfortable with providing direction and coaching employees.
  •   Approachable and natural people-person that enjoys interacting with people.
  •   Very detail oriented and exhibits thoroughness across the board.
  •   Great listener. Listens to each customer’s needs and maintains a customer centric approach.
  •   Motivated team player and has the flexibility to manage a variety of personalities.
  •   Adaptability to changing environment, technologies, inventory.
  •   Excellent planning, organizational, delegation and follow up skills.
  •   Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  •   Computer literacy required
  •   Minimum of 28 hours per week, must be available and flexible to work 4 days a week (including every other Saturday) with extended hours/days during key selling times of the year or as business needs require.
  •   Participate and coordinate in planning and preparation for store events and season/holiday decorations.
  •   Ability to have manual dexterity and be comfortable in tasks such as changing watch batteries and cleaning / polishing rings.
  •   Ability to lift 10 lbs; mostly be on your feet and mobile around the store during your shift.
  •   Follow all security and loss prevention procedures in accordance with corporate policies.
  •   Adherence to all store policies.
  •   Must be reliable and dependable.
  •   Clean background check required

Work Environment

The primary environment for this role is an open retail environment. Most business is conducted with customers in person. At times it can get busy, multi-tasking and being comfortable with periods of lots of activity is essential.  This role may also speak with customers over the phone or via email. This role involves mostly standing, showing merchandise, and moving various objects during your shift.  It involves interacting with coworkers consistently. This role is not a remote role.

We offer generous employee discounts.  We also offer a flexible schedule.  Hours are part time.  We are open daily from 10:30-4:30pm and closed on Sundays.  We have extended hours during the summer and December.  (Store schedule subject to change.)
